About 7.45pm on Tuesday, police and emergency services responded to reports of an unresponsive man in a vehicle on Duckmaloi Road, Duckmaloi, 15km from Oberon.
On arrival, NSW Ambulance paramedics confirmed the man had died.
While the man is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be the body of a 35-year-old man who was reported missing earlier this week.
Police from Chifley Local Area Command attended the scene and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Local detectives, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
A post mortem will be conducted in coming days to determine the cause of the man’s death.
