The community has been left gobsmacked after an unknown person or persons gained access to the pool and mindlessly attacked the Centre’s popular jumping pillow.
With temperatures set to continue climbing throughout the week, the incident means that there is one less activity for kids to enjoy until the pillow can be repaired.
The incident has been a particularly disappointing one considering that the outdoor pool was out of action last season, with patrons in large numbers enjoying the facility for the first time in twelve months.
The intruder climbed over a fence to access pool grounds sometime during the night on Sunday.
The intruder then stabbed the jumping pillow numerous times around its edges.
Some of the holes have been ripped up to 20 centimetres making the repair job harder and more expensive for the specialist required for the job.
Police investigations are continuing with CCTV footage unavailable for viewing.
Anyone with information on the damage can contact Lithgow police on 6352 8399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.You can make an online report through the NSW Police Force Community Portal https://portal.police.nsw.gov.au/.
