“We’ve got a friend who lives in Lithgow and he was telling me how good this pool was so I thought we’d come and try it out,” said Stephen Tolhurst of Springwood.
“It’s better than most of the pools I’ve been to, the disabled access on the side is really good,” he said.
Numbers have increased since the aquatic centre officially opened in its entirety on October 8 last year.
Pool staff have received calls from places such as Bathurst, Dubbo and Sydney with a couple even coming from South Australia to have a swim.
“I think it’s a good thing for the town that this facility has opened,” said lifeguard Meg Savage.
“We’ve been fundraising for the indoor people to be opened for a long time and now that the whole centre is finally open it is good to see that something good for the town actually paid off,” she said.
