Back to the ballot
IT'S always dangerous to make predictions when it comes to elections at any level - the peculiar developments in the USA and unexpected boilover in the Orange by election were no more unpredictable than the events surrounding last year's Lithgow Council election.

So as we head towards at least one by election in Lithgow Council within a matter of weeks we can't help wondering what the future hold.
A lot of ratepayer money would be saved if the system allowed for the simple installation of the last person excluded at the general election.
But that common sense measure isn't allowed (it would have been Darryl Goodwin by the way) so here we go again to the ballot box.
If we get another record field of candidates who knows what will be thrown up.
Grubby
THE worst location for mid city litter in Lithgow at present is the council's Station Street car park.
It's a dreadful mess along the entire length of the railing that separates the vehicles from the rail corridor.
On the other side of the intersection the Gray Street car park is not much better.
Maybe this is a ploy to draw attention away from our everlasting eyesore, the adjacent Sandford Avenue railway bridge.
Slow action
WHILE on the subject of environmental issues, another week has gone by and the eyesore created by masses of illegal missing person posters all over the Lithgow CBD and beyond is just getting worse.
There's even the tattered remains of one in the war memorial precinct in Queen Elizabeth Park.
So is there a Plan A or B or even C for someone to take action here?
Predictable
SOME things are as predictable as the seasons and never fail our expectations.
We're just getting past the Christmas hangover and Easter hot cross buns have already been in our supermarkets for over a week. Maybe we really are the Easter Bunnies.
