TAFE Western Acting Institute Director Adam Bennett announced that 2015’s most popular course in Lithgow, the Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation, again had strong enrolments but slipped to third position.
“Certificate II in Kitchen Operations is driven by strong industry demand and is popular because students really enjoy getting hands-on while learning from an industry expert in the kitchen,” Mr Bennett said.
“There are no entry requirements for the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways course – it’s perfect for anyone who may have left school without finishing and wants to get a qualification that helps them get into university or is nationally recognised in the workplace.
“As for the Certificate IV Outdoor Recreation - bushwalking, mountain bike riding, roping, canoeing and cross country skiing - are just some of the fun-filled activities available in this course which can lead to entry level employment in Outdoor Adventure Guiding, Outdoor Education or in the Corporate Outdoor Training sector.”
The top 10 TAFE Western courses in Lithgow in 2016 were Certificate II in Kitchen Operations, Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation, Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade, Certificate II in Animal Studies; Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways, Certificate I in Engineering, Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation, and Certificate III in Individual Support.
