Lynne, Lithgow's current Lady Captain, retired from Golf NSW last month and her achievements are a sign of her passion for golf.
Lynne started at the grassroots level when she joined Lithgow Golf club in 1972.
For the next 45 years she served in many positions - Club Secretary and CEO, Board member, Vice President and every position on the Ladies committee.
Such was her contribution to golf in Lithgow, that she was awarded life membership in 2009.
However Lynne’s commitment was soon recognized at a higher level. She started serving on Women’s Golf NSW in 2001, holding many positions until 2009.
Lynne’s special skills were in course rating. This is a complicated process and Lynne travelled widely measuring and assessing courses.
Australia adopted a new system from the USA and Lynne became the coordinator for training of this system in NSW.
She was so good at it that in 2008 she was elected to Golf Australia in this role. She held this high position for four years. When Women’s Golf NSW amalgamated with the men, a new entity, Golf NSW was formed. Lynne served on that Board from 2010 to the present.
While achieving all of this, Lynne has still worked tirelessly for Lithgow and Blue Mountains golf and these golfing communities have benefited from her vast knowledge.
