Lead by example
LITHGOW'S showplace QE Park is looking particularly magnificent at the present time with its manicured lawns and famous rose avenue in the first full flush of Summer.
But why is Council so tardy in its failure to remove the obnoxious graffiti that disfigures the natural rocks that form the eastern boundary of the park.
It's been this way for weeks and the inaction in such a prominent and popular location is not sending the right sort of message to the wider community.
Maybe before the Christmas shutdown huh ... ?
On the move
THE revival of the Lithgow CBD continues to gain pace with another significant business moving to Main Street.
The busy Telstra Shop is relocating from the Valley Plaza to spacious premises previously occupied by Western Autoquip.
Another good sign for The Strip.
The lights fantastic
IT'S the beginning of Summer and with it the first appearance (that we've noticed) of Christmas lights -- in Busby Street, Lithgow, actually.
Over the next couple of weeks there'll be competition between neighbours all over the place for bragging rights and the claim that ''mine's bigger (and brighter) than yours!'
