Lithgow Hotel 1 opener Josh Cronin held up his end with (36) before the tail wagged with Matt Dickson not out on 45.
Nick Bender harassed the Lithgow Hotel batsmen and ended with 5/23 off 8 overs, the best bowling figures of the round in both grades.
It was lucky Lidsdale got a good start and Tom Thompson(68) was able to survive to the end. Lithgow Hotel 1’s Matt Dickson (3/23) tried in vain to finish off Lidsdale.
Portland 1 v Portland 2
The table has the two Portland teams at the opposite ends of the table and that is how the game played out with Portland1 losing only one wicket on the way to 125. Brady McCann (64no) led the way with a half century.
Portland 2’s only wicket taker was Jarre Ryan (1/26).
Portland 2 had a few moments when the game was close with Simon Dunleavy (54) getting a half ton but there was little support except for Andrew Norris (29ret). Brady McCann had Portland 1’s best bowling figures.
Lithgow Hotel 2 v Valley
A solid opening partnership between Valley’s Graham Bell (40) and Steve Moore (38) set up the teams total of 9/158 and a win over Lithgow Hotel 2 (148).
Lithgow Hotel 2’s Chris Porter was in wicket taking mode finishing with (4/46).
Lithgow Hotel 2’s reply had plenty of promise with some good starts Jason Murray (46) and Sam Weeks (31) top scoring but they couldn’t stop the wickets falling. Dave Heartly did the damage with 4/41.
Hampton V La Salle
A couple of half centuries including the highest score of the round for either grade put the Hornets (201) in a commanding position after the first innings.
Scott Alchurch blazed 72 runs for La Salle that included five sixes. Richard Sharp (50) gave good support. Hampton’s Jack Bilby took 3/36.
Brad Kay (51no) was steady out in the middle for Hampton but didn’t find anyone to stay around except Rick Hooligan (40).
The La Salle bowlers shared the wickets around with no one getting more than one. Richard Sharp’s 1/18 capped off a good game.
