Gajula and Barry Jackson (88) built the foundations for a big score of 3/260 dec.
Lithgow Hotel 2’s bowlers copped a bit of stick with Jason Murray (1/41 off 8) and Brett Holyoake (1/18 off 3) the wicket takers.
It was not a great start for Lithgow Hotel 2 losing early wickets before getting a bit more starch in the middle order with R Brown (46) and Jason Murray (22) the best scorers on their way to 141 all out.
Barry Jackson (3/32) took the early wickets before Dane Nicholson (4/15) finished Lithgow Hotel 2 off.
Valley v Hampton
Valley’s total of 117 in the first innings was enough to secure a win against a Hampton batting line up that just couldn’t get going.
Mick Inzitari top-scored for Valley and the match with 30 runs. Hampton’s Jared Duff (24) did the best in his side to stay at the crease.
Brothers Ryan (4/21) and Jack Bilby (3/20) did the damage for Hampton but it was not enough as Valley’s bowlers shared the spoils among all of them with Lou Kappos finishing with 3/5.
Portland 1 v Lithgow Hotel 1
Lithgow Hotel 1’s poor start to its innings never allowed it to reach any great heights with the team all out for 105 with Mark Roots making 25.
Portland 1 easily went pass the total for the loss of only two wickets with Brady McCann leading the way with 34.
Luke Barnes from Portland 1 ended the game on a hat trick and with the best bowling figures of 4/26. Neil Hutchinson (2/26) was Lithgow Hotel 1’s most dangerous in its attack.
La Salle v Portland 2
A wagging tail set La Salle (186) up for a crushing win over Portland 2 (65).
Hornets’ Tom Bannon (45) and Scott Achurch (41) shared an 85 run partnership for the eighth wicket. Portland 2’s Col McCann bowled well to finish with 3/22 off his 8 overs.
Portland 2’s batsmen started positively against La Salle’s Grady Tapping (4/9 off 4 overs) but the bowler had the last laugh taking 4 out of the top 5. Mark Griffiths showed some resistance to finish with 17 runs.
