A grand parade started the meeting off with Daphne’s husband Ray riding in the Green Machine push ute followed by son Kevin in his restored LJ Torana.
Raymond Giffin, driving a similar Torana, followed then by Kevin’s wife Jodie and their two speedway star boys Martin and Andrew.
Ray Blackley, club president for over thirty years, later thanked new president Ray Healey and his secretary wife Sue for taking over the running of the speedway plus their continued support of his family and friends.
The evening came to a bone-jarring, panel-pounding end with seven cars fighting it out to the end in an amazing demolition derby.
There was only one stoppage during the car crunching event with Stuart Brown needing assistance from his totally destroyed Corolla after being rammed and ridden by Mitchell Duggan’s Magna.
