The event was the seventh Car, Bike and Truck Show organised by the Mountain Cruizers Car Club.
The show is a major fundraiser hosted by the car club for local charities with this year’s beneficiary being Can Assist.
As always, organising such an event takes a lot of effort and time for the few involved and major headaches with last minute changes.
The Mountain Cruizers Car Club is fortunate enough to have dedicated members that are willing to go out of their way to ensure the day is successful.
In 2014 the show was moved to the showground to facilitate an ever growing event and to encourage more exhibitors from outside the area.
This proved to be successful and this year exhibitors attended from as far away as Queensland, Camden and other areas hundreds of kilometres away.
The number of cars and bikes were slightly down from 2014, however there was an increase in trucks on show and a Retro Mini Caravan.
With a variety of things to do it was an event enjoyed by everyone.
Entertainment was by Country Singer Paul Crowder and the Lithgow Line Dancing group.
There were also Markets held in the Ballroom, Trade stalls, Fire Service and VRA display.
Wallerawang Public School P & C organised the Food to raise money for the school and Pinups With A Cause an Australian based network of Pinup Girls who volunteer their free time to raise awareness and funds for Soldier On - Helping our Wounded Warriors.
The Car Club is a family orientated club that do more than just drive their vehicles around.
They are a club that puts back into the local community by helping out where possible.
Over the years the club has raised and donated more than $15,000 to local charities and have assisted in special event transportation as well as running the Father’s Day Lunch for Three Tree Lodge.
All this would not be possible if they didn’t have dedicated members and local business support.
They would like to thank the major sponsors for this year’s event and they are:
Lithgow City Council, Ryco, D & J Ford, Zig Zag Motel, Lithgow Tyre Service, G & D Engineering Pty Ltd, and JR Engineering Pty Ltd.
Also a special thanks goes to two girls from the St Patricks School who danced and donated the money they received back to the club, Mackatelyn Hepple and Leela Kus.
Thanks to all who came along and checked out the show.
