While there was no denying Hutchison’s time of 1:58.683 as the clear front runner, Stockton (2:02.769) and Rowley (2:03.270) fought neck and neck to the finish, closing in within half a second of each other.
Another local rider, Hayden Wittingslow, also competed and placed 12th at the end of the two runs that were held during the event.
Lithgow was represented in the race across a number of fields including the Junior U15s division, with Dylan Walsh and Will Stockton placing 5th and 11th respectively.
While Joel Willis took out the Elite category, the local area was well represented with Mal Mcmanus, Luke Newcombe and Luke Walsh also competing, coming 7th, 8th and 11th respectively.
All riders gave it their all on a track known for its exhilarating twists and turns which got the better of some riders, ending in a few nasty scrapes and injuries.
Competition for the year is now over, but organisers Rocky Trail Entertainment are gearing up for 2017.
Promoter Martin Wisata said there was a lot of fresh new talent coming through the ranks.
“Downhill racing is definitely a niche sport and it takes the passion of the young riders and the support and commitment of their parents to succeed,” Mr Wisata said.
“We will work together with NSW clubs... to bring a fun and interesting 2017 series together.”
