Five people charged with drug possession during the police presence surrounding the Psyfari festival in the Glen Alice area in late August, had their matters before the last sitting of Rylstone Local Court.
Otto Heutling, aged 42, of Park Street, Sydenham, was fined a total of $700 for two charges of ‘Possess prohibited drug’. He also received a conviction with no other penalty recorded for the charge ‘Possess equipment for administration of prohibited drugs’.
At about 1.30am on Friday, August 26, 2016, Heutling was stopped by police in Glen Alice in order to conduct a random breath test.
Although the test was negative for alcohol police noted that he appeared to be nervous and he admitted to prior drug offences, so the decision was made to search the vehicle.
They found a bong fashioned from a plastic bottle.
Heutling admitted that there was cannabis wrapped up in a pair of socks which was found to be 3g in weight.
Police checked another pair of socks and found a tablet of MDMA and a tablet of LSD.
