This event, that brings a little fun and a whole lot of satisfaction for those involved, will this year be held during the daytime at Lithgow Library Learning Centre to allow as many women to attend as possible.
The Girls Day In is a take on the popular ‘Girls Night In’ events which are held in support of the Cancer Council.
The events are a fantastic opportunity to catch up with the girls, have fun and raise funds for all women's cancers.
Every day in Australia, around 50 women are told they have breast or a gynaecological cancer.
Sadly, around 12 Australian women will die each day from a women's cancer.
Funds raised by Cancer Council's Girls Night In goes towards research, prevention and treatment of women with breast, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulva and uterine cancers.
With this in mind, staff at Lithgow Library Learning Centre are excited to welcome the public in for their fundraising event which will raise not only funds, but awareness.
Women are invited to come along and kick up their heels with a belly dance demonstration.
They can also learn about bra-fitting after surgery, discover the benefits of massage and aromatherapy in dealing with stress, indulge their taste buds with a lavish morning tea, sip on a mocktail, or simply to show their support.
There will be several lucky door prizes, with a major prize of a make- over and haircut by Councillor Maree Statham.
“This event supports a very worthwhile cause and gives local women an opportunity to come together in a fun way to learn more about how to manage with cancer,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie.
The fun begins at 10.30am on Friday October 21 at the Lithgow Library.
A gold coin donation will gain you entry and a ticket in the prize draw.
