One of the tributes is Screen Australia’s debut of ‘Peter Brock’ on Sunday on channel Ten. This is one of 23 film productions that have benefitted from $64 million in NSW Government funding, and the creation of around 4,000 jobs throughout production.
The mini-series focuses heavily on Bathurst and the history of the Bathurst 1000 and I can’t wait to tune in! Congratulations to Bathurst Regional Council for their outstanding effort in preparing the town and the track for this year’s event, I hope to see you all trackside!
Local Sports Grants: The NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant program is about supporting facilities that get locals involved in sport and recreation activities.
With many of these clubs run by volunteers, this is a great program that helps build infrastructure and facilities to support a great physical and social past time.
Applications for this years funding are being taken now, and are open until 11 November 2016 and I encourage all eligible local sporting clubs to apply.

Have your say on the proposed upgrade of Bells Line of Road and Chifley Road: Community members are invited to provide feedback on the Review of Environmental Factors for the Bells Line of Road - Chifley Road upgrade between Bell and Lithgow.
The NSW Government is proposing to upgrade the major road corridor, which links northwest Sydney with western NSW and provides an alternative route to the Great Western Highway.
The proposal includes a descending lane for heavy or slow moving vehicles on Scenic Hill about three kilometres east of Lithgow and improvements to the road alignment and grade.
Access would also be improved to the Ex-Prisoner of War Memorial.
The bridge across the railway line at Clarence would be replaced and Chifley Road would be realigned and widened to make the bridge approaches safer and improve access to Clarence Colliery Road.
The Review of Environmental Factors examines the potential impact of the upgrade and outlines measures to reduce and manage the impact.
Feedback can be provided by Monday October 24 and two community information drop in sessions will be held in Lithgow so community members can speak to members of the project team and learn more.
The sessions will be held on Thursday October 13 from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday October 15 from 12pm to 3pm at The Union Theatre, Bridge Street. For more information visit www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects/sydney-west/bells- lineof-road/chifley- road-upgrade
