Bail was refused in Lithgow Local Court on Thursday for Troy Morris, the man Chifley police have chased since December 2015 but were not able to capture until last weekend.
During that time police believe they were incredibly close to getting their man a number of times.
This included raiding homes where police thought he was located and numerous vehicle pursuits where the offender may have endangered lives by crossing onto the wrong side of the road to avoid apprehension.
Chifley LAC Crime Manager Detective Inspector Luke Rankin said there were a number of attempts to apprehend Mr Morris.
“We were determined to bring about his apprehension and he was determined not to be found.”
Police expect more charges to arise from Mr Morris being taken into custody with investigations continuing into the multiple members of the community who aided the offender.
Police found Mr Morris at an address in Short Street, Lithgow at 11.30pm Sunday and arrested him on seven outstanding warrants dating back to December 2015.
The man was wanted for six local counts of break and enter, two more from Blackheath, 13 counts of fraud, shoplifting in Valley Heights, being carried in a stolen vehicle, possession of drugs and disposing of stolen property.
Mr Morris is scheduled to appear in court again on December 12 this year.
