It was a spirited day of competition for all involved, and all for a great cause.
$2425 was raised, with all going to the VRA.
The VRA’s Jean Bennett was on hand on the day.
She gratefully received the donation on behalf of the VRA and thanked the lady bowlers for their sincere fundraising efforts, which will be of great assistance to the VRA in the future.
The day may have been for a worthy cause but bragging rights for winning were still up for grabs, and all put up a valiant fight for the podium with plenty of good bowls taking place.
Winners
Winners of the day were Merle Stephens, Ruth Harries and Brian Davidson.
Second place went to Judy Kennedy, Margaret Hang and Kay Adams.
Third place went to Lesley Townsend, Gloria Davidson and Lorna Hayes.
Congratulations to all the day’s winners.
The lady bowlers have long been known as a group in our local community willing to give time and support to worthy causes and the amount of money raised for our VRA is an example of their achievements.
The Lithgow branch of the NSW VRA responds to a number of incidents around our local area and assists other state emergency services in their duties.
Many other organisations have also benefited from the generosity of the lady bowlers’ charity days and they are to be congratulated on a job well done.
