“It was just the first thing that came out of my head,” he said.
Bowen’s creation is the result of a workshop held at Eskbank House these school holidays that teaches children how to create 3D sculptures with recycled material.
Bowen said the workshop had given him some ideas.
“I liked the workshop because it shows me what I could do in the future… I’d like to be an artist.”\
Organised by A.C. Galleries, the workshop is one of a series being held throughout the school holidays.
Educational and Program Officer Anna Carter said children not only learn to work with recycled material, but cooperate with other kids as well.
Through this one workshop alone, children created everything from robot dinosaurs to jewellery boxes.
“It’s really a way to open up their imaginations,” Ms Carter said.
“They learn a lot of technical skills from doing this work as well.”
Workshops for children continue to run at Eskbank House through the holidays.
Kids can learn everything from drawing techniques to using styrofoam to create unique art.
Bookings for the workshops are essential.
