Child Studies Teacher Lucinda Jones said Children’s Services was experiencing a boom right across the country and there has never been a better time to consider a career in this exciting, hands-on industry.
Educators have such an important role in children’s development and I have learnt how to give children a stimulating, nurturing and inspirational environment.
“We are hosting an information session for people who may like to study a Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care in 2017 – the first step to entering this fantastic, rapidly-adapting and rewarding industry,” Ms Jones said.
“In this session you can find out about what the course involves, what exciting career options it can create for you and we encourage anyone who has ever considered working in children’s services to come along.”
Lithgow Students Kathy Simpson and Fran Schmitzer studied the course this year, and believe it has been an extremely positive experience.
“I have been able to maintain family commitments while studying.
“I have gained relevant and up- to-date information on child care and will use it as a stepping stone to the Diploma and working in Family Day Care,” Kathy said.
“I have liked the interactions with children, the stories and conversations you can have with them and the satisfaction you get by helping children in all stages of their learning.
“Professionally I know I have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to help children reach their full potential and to develop great relationships with their peers and others,” Fran added.
“Educators have such an important role in children’s development and I have learnt how to give children a stimulating, nurturing and inspirational environment.”
Ms Jones said the information session would be a casual affair, with no pressure to enrol.
However, students who wish to progress with the course, will have the opportunity to enrol and undertake RUReady Screening to ensure participants have the required literacy and numeracy knowledge for the course.
The information session will be held on Wednesday October 26, at 9.30am in room D-G- 26 at Lithgow TAFE.
