Wei Qi Yin is the school’s latest Western Representative after being declared champion at the Regional Finals of the Premier’s Spelling Bee (Western).
Wei Qi travelled to Faulconbridge and competed against 42 other top public school spellers from across 21 schools.
Wei Qi Yin will represent Cooerwull at the State Finals of the Premier’s Spelling Bee.
The area covered Lithgow, Blue Mountains, Richmond and Penrith.
Wei Qi lasted a marathon 11 rounds to be the last man standing in the competition, spelling the word ‘AUBERGINE’ correctly to seal his victory.
His fantastic spelling will see him represent Cooerwull Public School at the State Finals of the Premier’s Spelling Bee.
The Premier’s Spelling Bee was introduced in 2004 as a fun and educational way for primary school students to engage in spelling
This event will be held in Sydney on Wednesday November 9 and Wei Qi will battle it out among the state’s best spellers.
The Cooerwull Public School community wish Wei Qi the best of luck at the State Finals.
