Catholic Church Group
Gorrie Ban ‘Caring for the aged and lonely’: Runs each Monday at 10am except during December, January and public holidays. Held at Fatima Hall, GWH, Lithgow.
New members and volunteers are always welcome.
Transport can be arranged. For more information please ring 6351 4056 or 6351 3092. Parishioners are welcome to join the day trips (ring Noela).
The program for the next two weeks is advertised in the parish bulletin which is displayed in the window of St Patrick’s Church,Lithgow.
Paddy’s Possums: Unfortunately Paddy's Possums playgroup will not run this year.
If there is interest in having the playgroup operate again, and there are several people willing to coordinate it and volunteer their time please contact the Presbytery on 6351 3092.
Social Justice Group: Usually meet the second Thursday of month at 5pm.
Venue: Portland Parish Centre located behind St Joseph’s School and St Vincent’s Church, Portland.
Everyone interested in social justice is encouraged to attend.
Ecumenical Prayer: Third Wednesday of the month, at 2pm in the Mary MacKillop Chapel (located inside St Patrick’s Church.) All welcome in this ecumenical prayer time.
Home Rosary: Held every Tuesday evening at 7pm. Please contact the Presbytery for more information.
St Vincent De Paul Society: ‘Helping those in need’. Vinnies is always looking for new volunteers. Meetings held every second Monday at 11am at the centre.
Catholic Women’s League (CWL): Fourth Tuesday of the month, 7.30pm at Fatima Hall. (Fatima Hall is located at 1102 GWH, next to the BP Garage.)
During the winter months of June, July and August the meetings are held after the 12.30pm Mass in St Patrick’s Church on the fourth Tuesday.
Youth Group: Call Michelle Brien or Jeffrey Larsen at La Salle Academy for dates and times of events.
The Bathurst Catholic Diocese offers two youth camps per year: BLAST (years 6-9) and MANNAFEST (Years 10-12).
