Panthers could secure against Souths the competition’s final game for 2016 at Glanmire Oval.
It would leave the possibility open of an all-Lithgow match up in the grand final with the Zig Zag men’s side, pending the favourable outcomes of a few more finals.
It will be a tough encounter with both sides in good form.
Panther’s Travis Cameron was confident in his side against Souths.
“The last times we played full strength we have won.”
Panthers minor premiership was helped along from the previous clash between long-time rivals.
It was a top of the table affair on July 9 this year when the two sides met and Lithgow beat Bathurst convincingly 5-1.
A game both teams didn’t play at their best.
But it was a win for Lithgow, built on some early goals from the Panthers’ Greg Nelson that put the Souths side on the back foot for the rest of the game.
Cameron followed the line from other teams in the top four in regards to who was the side to watch.
“Any of the teams in the finals can win it on the day.”
Lithgow Zig Zag was mentioned as a darkhorse.
Cameron said that the Panthers team needs to turn up on Saturday against Souths.
“A big part of our game is our energy.”
A problem Lithgow should not have against the Bathurst side.
“We have had a big rivalry against Souths for a while.”
Souths will have their hands full again in the centre containing Panthers star Nic Milne.
Milne is coming off a hat-trick against Orange Wanderers and caused Souths plenty of headaches last time they played.
The men’s Premier league Hockey major semi between Lithgow Panthers and Bathurst Souths will kick off at 3pm at Glanmire Oval.
It will be a great day to get down to the fields with the Panthers women’s side taking on St Pat’s at 1.30pm.
