The list of recipients nearly reached 30 with a total of $45,535 donated by the Lithgow Workmens Club to the organisations.
Most of the organisations had a representative at the morning tea to receive the letter of confirmation from the Workies president Howard Fisher and general manager Geoff Wheeler.
Mr Fisher highlighted that this was the first time the grants morning tea had been held in the club’s new facilities and that the club had made the decision to expand to ensure its future.
“The club has to be successful to give these grants.
“The more successful the club is the more money charities can get.”
Mr Fisher said more than $250,000 is given out by the Workies and that the category 1 donations gave him much satisfaction.
“This side of the grants is for the really well deserved parts of the community that need assistance.”
