Although students greeted their guests in a friendly manner, it was quickly down to the serious business of competitive chess.
The visitors arrived ready to play against La Salle’s own team and the stage was set for some interesting games.
Players competed as part of the semi finals of the Country Secondary Schools Chess Teams Competition in the Western Region division.
All four games were of a high standard, very tense and exciting.
After some tense games and savvy strategy Orange Anglican Grammar emerged victorious, claiming victory in all four of the games.
The games were all of a high standard, very tense and exciting, with players from both schools playing some excellent chess in what emerged as a battle of strategy. Orange will now proceed to the next round of competition.
The visit was a great success, with students enjoying the opportunity to compete and mingle with their Orange counterparts.
La Salle congratulate their chess team on their hard work and wish Orange Anglican Grammar the best of luck as they continue in the competition.
