Mr Engeler was spending time out at our local landmark when he came across a whole bathroom vanity left to rot and obstruct the trail.
“Hassans is a jewel, as yet not fully discovered,” Paul wrote in an email.
“Notwithstanding, the antithesis to its beauty is vandalism and dumping of rubbish which is sadly not uncommon.”
He wrote that it does not make the best view for tourists venturing along the road to the main platform.
Illegally dumped waste is a big problem for the area, spoiling our region’s natural attractions and costing Lithgow City Council thousands of dollars each year in clean up costs.
