They took on CSU Blue at Wallerawang and thoroughly enjoyed the home town advantage.
The girls had a few players out but it certainly didn’t show as they dominated the game from the get-go with Jo Cornwell scoring from the kick off.
CSU hit straight back before Wallerawang’s Ash Oldfield made the most of a good run, finding the line.
Kim Northey also managed to add to the Warriette’s tally, before CSU hit back just before the half to make the score 18-12.
Coming back from the break more determined than ever, Wallerawang’s Megan Embleton was quick to dazzle CSU with some fancy footwork which paid off in the form of a try.
Charlee Drury was next across the line, after an intercepted a pass.
Drury didn’t hesitate, sprinting 40 metres down the field to score.
Kim Northey finished the scoring with her second of the day.
Megan Embleton kicked five goals to make the final score 34-12.
It was a continuation of great form for the Warriettes, with both their attack and defence excellent as always.
A combination of good ball control and nice backline movements also helped cement their victory.
Kim Northey was one of Wallerawang’s biggest attacking threat, deservedly taking out Player’s Player.
Megan Embleton, Katie McGuinness and Lauren Thompson put a lot of effort in defence making some tough tags and really kept CSU from scoring more than once.
Kaitlin Cibulka and Charlee Drury have continued to improve out of sight this year and both were among Wallerawang’s best.
The Warriettes would like to thank Brad Cornwell for coaching the team, and Ian Dray and Hayden Cornwell for running the water.
Thanks also goes to Western Pump Repairs, and Graham Scanlan Construction for their valued sponsorship.
