In the 12 months to March 2016 there were 86 recorded incidents of break and enter non-dwelling compared to 200 in the 12 months to March 2015.
There were similar figures for break and enter dwelling with 126 incidents in the 12 months to March 2016 with 198 in the previous 12-month period.
Steal from motor vehicles also dropped with 88 incidents in the latest report compared to 151 in the 12-month period up to March 2015.
Chifley Local Area Command's Detective Inspector Luke Rankin said police were relatively pleased with the figures but cautioned that the 12-month period up to March 2015 was a bad spell.
"We had some challenges in the year before and the figures show we dealt with them," Mr Rankin said.
"There were some active offenders in the area particularly with break and enters non dwelling."
Mr Rankin said there were a combination of factors that contributed to the falls such as the identification of persons of interest, a proactive response by police in deterrence and improvements in crime investigations.
"We have a lot faster turnaround with our crime scene analysis," Mr Rankin said.
"It used to be months to get results back, now it can be days."
