Another jail stabbing
A 25-YEAR-OLD inmate at the Lithgow Correctional Centre was hospitalised after receiving stabs wounds on Sunday morning. The wounds were a result of a physical altercation between the victim and a second inmate. The fight was witnessed by prison staff who separated the inmates. The victim suffered stab wounds to his torso and neck and was transported by helicopter to an undisclosed location in a stable condition. Another inmate is currently on remand from Lithgow Court on an attempted murder charge after a recent similar attack at the maximum security prison.
Capertee crash
A 31-YEAR-OLD female was injured in Capertee on Saturday morning after rolling her vehicle on the Castlereagh Highway. Paramedics from Lithgow and Rylstone were called to the scene and transported the victim to Orange Base Hospital with a dislocated shoulder, fractured arm and possible spinal injuries.
Shoplifting continues
A BUSINESS in western Main Street lost $500 worth of goods in a shoplifting incident at 3pm on Sunday. Staff reported seeing two men leave the store carrying a toolbox full of goods without paying. A staff member followed the pair outside where they were seen to enter a silver Nissan Skyline with personalised number plates. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
