It will be a time to catch up with old friends and make new ones with a huge two day tournament set down on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a celebration dinner on the Saturday night.
Bowlers are to check the notice board for club games and district events.
With the Workies celebrating their 50 years, it is the perfect time for those wanting to take up the game of bowls to come along to the club of a Saturday or Wednesday and you will be made welcome and shown the intricacies of the game of bowls.
It is a great social sport with the Workies boasting some of the finest facilities in Australia.
The final of the minor singles was played with Darryl Hogan proving too good for Brian Brennan winning 31-22.
It was a close game all the way through with Hogan getting on top over the last seven ends.
The the final of the club pairs were also played with Ken Poppett and Trevor Mills combining well to defeat Don Milligan and Steve Lesslie 21-20.
The final was also a very close game with the teams 20-all after 21 ends and then had to play an extra end with Poppett and Mills getting up by a point.
