The Lithgow Mercury's 'Pet of the Week' campaign is an effort to help animals from the Lithgow Animal Shelter find loving homes, in order to avoid the harsh alternative.

There has been a good rate of adoption from this campaign, and it is with delight that we share some news stemming from the program from Annette Heaslip.

Annette spotted a pup featured in the Mercury and decided to give him a home.

“We have welcomed this little dog Rocky into our family and he now has a big sister Abby (a shitsu) to look after him as well," said Annette.

“I would like to congratulate the girls from Bizzi Paws for the huge transformation of this gorgeous little dog. 

“For anyone thinking to rescue a dog, don’t judge a book by its cover.

“Rocky is well on the road to recovery from his previous neglect and has become a valued member of a loving family,” she said.
