BETTER facilities, upgrades and disabled access were all flagged by community organisations in their applications for this year’s NSW Community Building Partnership Program.
Community groups at Lithgow, Wallerawang, Portland and Cullen Bullen are all among the recipients of pre Christmas grants announced this week.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the popular Community Grant Program provides benefit to many community groups who are made up of hard working volunteers.
“The Community Building Partnership program allows for community infrastructure to be built, refurbished or enhanced, making an important impact on the day to day lives of our local communities.
“I am pleased to announce that 30 organisations will share in $300,000 across the Bathurst electorate following successful applications for project funding.
“Through this investment into the community, not only do the successful groups benefit, but so do local trades and services that are employed to complete the work,” Mr Toole said.
In the Lithgow City Council area the groups to receive funding are the Portland Motor Sports Club, Barton Park Arboretum, Lithgow Mining Museum, Lithgow Golf Club, Portland Golf Club, Lithgow Tidy Towns, Portland Sport and Recreational Club and the Portland Bowling Club.
“I congratulate these groups and look forward to seeing the benefit this funding will provide to the communities of Lithgow and Portland in the new year,” Mr Toole said.
Applications for the 2016 Community Building Partnership Program will open mid-year and should be considered by all community groups and organisations that may have a project that meets the guidelines of the program.
