It has been a long road for the students, who first auditioned for a place in the choir at the start of the year.
After a strong performance, the students were chosen to be part of the choir, and have been practising hard since then.
They join 1500 students from across the state who make up the choir, as well as an 80-piece symphony orchestra, 2000 dancers and rock, jazz, brass and marching bands from more than 400 NSW schools.
The Lithgow Public students are particularly excited to be working with former Lithgow Public student Courtney Clarke who has been selected as a feature artist in this year’s Schools Spectacular.
Courtney will be representing Lithgow High School in her role as a featured vocalist.
Students will spend four days in Sydney for the production, and left Lithgow at 5.30am yesterday to be on time for the first of multiple rehearsals before the main event.
The first performance will be tomorrow afternoon, followed by another two concerts on Saturday.
A big thank you has been expressed to Lithgow Public’s Belinda Trounce who has been a real driving force for this wonderful opportunity.
