Director Rae Burton is more than pleased on the progress of what should be one of the society’s best productions.
A real bonus for the musical society has been David Webb who will play the part of the Prince.
Webb made his debut in the society’s last production “Evita” and his performance was a real winner with audiences.
“Into The Woods is a mixture of old fairy tales that includes Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel, that are given a modern twist and already the production has gained critical acclaim all over the world.
“I am really excited about ‘Into The Woods’, we have assembled a great cast and the costumes, backdrop and props are extra special,” Rae Burton said.
“Leads for the production are Mark Watchorn and Meegan Fitzgerald.
“Meegan, like David (Webb), was excellent in ‘Evita’ and has been outstanding in rehearsals.
“The cast boasts a range of ages from young school students through to our more experienced performers.”
The first showing of “Into The Woods’ has been set down for November 15 at the Union Theatre with the matinee starting at 2pm.
