A big day of exhibition games starting at 10am and 11am has been organised before the reunion to be held at the Wang Bowling Club tonight.
A recovery session will be held at the club tomorrow for lunch leading into the NRL grand final.
Baseball has enjoyed a proud history with the Kearney family featuring for the 40 years dating back to the late Cyril Kearney, a beacon in the sport and one of the best in the state.
Along with a host of local talented baseballers, they put Lithgow on the map and was considered one of the stronger organisations at Country Championships.
His legacy in baseball was passed down and pictured at left, are two of Cyril’s sons Peter and Tim and grandsons Mark and John.
The competition around that era was flying high and attracting big crowds to the Glanmire of a Sunday.
Grandsons John and brother Chris are still playing in today’s competition.
It should be a big weekend for the reunion with many stories retold and exaggerated as the night goes on.
