THE Workmens Club Wolves has come through last week's bruising semi final against Mudgee Dragons unscathed and have now set their sights on bringing the grand final to Lithgow.
A bit batted and bruised, the Wolves will take on a fresh Orange CYMS side who as minor premiers had last week off. CYMS' captain coach Michael Sullivan who has always respected the Wolves as a tough side was in Lithgow for the semi and would have been impressed in what he had seen.
The Orange side will know that they are in for a big match when they take on the Wolves who have been in excellent form over past several games.
CYMS will go into the game as favourites, but the Wolves have no fear of meeting CYMS on their home track as they beat them in Orange in their last encounter.
They will be out to put pressure on Sullivan and Matt Rose's excellent kicking games which is a major weapon for the Green and Golds.
Coach Graeme Osborne will be looking for a similar effort from his side who beat Mudgee in the semi final.
The score of 12-6 flattered the Dragons with the Wolves clearly dominant from the opening whistle.
Their defence was first rate with Mudgee only making it into the Wolves' 20 on a couple of occasions.
CYMS will be looking to stop the 'roll' of the big Wolves' forwards who have been dynamic over the past couple of weeks and it is one of the main strengths of the Lithgow side.
Both sides know that a win will give the winner the grand final in their home city – which is always a major advantage in what will be the biggest game of the year.
CYMS' like side will be Tim Bassman, Semisi Katoa, Jerome Harrison, Ben McAlpine, Robbie Mortimer, Matt Rose, Michael Sullivan, Cam Jones, Sam Hill, Simon Osborne, Kyran Bubb, Trent Rose, Tim Mortimer, Riley Law and Logan Pocklington.
