IT was a chilly start to a beautiful day as Cullen Bullen Public School held their Education Week Open Day on Thursday 30 July.
Principal Michelle Gallop addressed the assembly of students and family members and discussed the value of our public education system as students answered questions about the history of education in Australia and how different it was for previous generations.
Family members and students then participated in a circuit of activities; Maths, Science and Art activities were enjoyed by all.
Classroom activities were then followed by another great BBQ lunch which was provided by the P and C.
The day’s events were concluded with a whole school assembly to celebrate all of the student’s hard work in class.
At the conclusion of the assembly, children invited their parents up to award them with merit certificates to thank them for supporting their education.
Students announced each parents name and shook their hands as they presented them with a merit certificate.
Principal, Michelle Gallop said that having children acknowledge their parents as ‘partners in their education’ was a great way to conclude a wonderful event and successful day.
