Last year, Courtney was selected to be a solo vocalist in the School Spectacular – an event that was broadcast by Channel 9 to millions all around Australia.
After a series of auditions that saw hundreds of Australia's best talent cut down systematically over several rounds, Courtney again made it through as a featured artist.
She will find out just what songs that she will be singing in September with the show to be staged in November.
“It was fairly nerve racking.
“We had to perform in front of a panel of judges and in front of all the other hopefuls that were going for the same part.
“If it is anything like last year, it should be brilliant.”
It is going to be a busy time for Courtney who just turned 17 and is in the midst of doing her Higher School Certificate at Lithgow High School.
Along with the rehearsals for the Spectacular, Courtney has also been selected to perform at the Netball World Cup Opening Ceremony at the All Phones Arena in Sydney.
She will be having a full dress rehearsal tomorrow (Wednesday, August 5 with the curtain going up on the Opening Ceremony on Friday, August 7.
“It is going to be massive with people coming from all over the world with the Arena already a sell out.
“The opening is going to be beamed all around the world.
“Only 14 were selected to sing solos and again it was a rigorous and very nervy selection process.
Courtney has also had the opportunity to audition through the Talented Development Program (TDP).
Last week, Courtney recorded some vocals in Studio 301, Sydney.
Courtney is the complete package – she has an abundance of talent as a vocalist, guitarist, is an accomplished dancer and has the looks and confidence to be a huge sensation in the entertainment industry.
She is the daughter of Fiona and Greg Clarke of Lithgow and is already well known around the district performing at many functions and charity events with a big future predicted for her.
