THERE are no undefeated teams remaining in the Lithgow Table Tennis Association Summer competition following the second round played at the Old Trades Hall.

The two winners from the opening round -- Charolais and Grippers -- both fell, leaving all four teams with one win, one loss records.
Loopers dropped the first rubber against Charolais to trail 2-0 but soon got their house in order, winning fourteen of the next seventeen games to make the match safe at 14-5. Charolais made the score a bit more respectable in the closing stages but Loopers got home comfortably, 16-9.
For Loopers, Brody Forbes (6-0) and Roy Barlow (6-2) led the way, while Michael Wood (2-5) was below his best.
None for the Charolais players could fire, with Peter Jaccoud and Sean Jenkins both going 3-4, and Terry Millmore 1-6.
The teams each won a doubles 2-0.
In the other match Grippers were only able to field two players, leading them to forfeit 8 games automatically to EMUZ.
In what may have been a tight match with a full contingent of players, the teams stood at 5-all early on before Grippers finished in front 9-8.
The forfeited games turned the scoreline against them, with EMUZ winning 16-9.
All of the EMUZ side had similar results, with Riza Wiradi scoring 2-2, Leon Rust 2-3 and Pauline Welfare 2-4.
They also took the only doubles 2-0.
For Grippers, Lou Kappos (6-1) did all he could in a near impossible situation, while Mark McAulay lost some close games to go 3-5.
