Last month, the Markets held a Texan Barbecue manned by the Lions Club members with the princely sum of $1500 raised.
The Lions Club then matched the $1500 and a cheque for $3000 was presented at Sunday’s markets in the Civic Ballroom markets to the Central West Australian Vision Care for Starters.
On hand to accept the cheque were one of the Vision Care's sporting stars Alice Kingston and teacher Pru Jobling who were extremely grateful for the gift.
A further cheque of $500 was also presented to the Lithgow VRA with Rescue Captain Ian Bennett on hand to accept the cheque.
A sum of $300 was previously presented to the VRA at last month's Markets from the Lithgow Community Markets.
Lions Club's Alex Roberts thanked Lithgow Free Range Meats and all those who supported the barbecue making the presentation to these two worthy charities possible.
