MEMBERS of the Lithgow Chapter No 39 of the Order of the Eastern Star hosted more than 70 visitors from many areas of the state for their annual visitors weekend.

They were joined in the occasion by Mrs Roslyn Ruskin and Ray McIntosh of the Grand Chapter of NSW and Australian Capital territory, Margaret and Paul Smith from Illawarra, Joan Whyte and Richard Turner of Parramatta and Agnes Simpson of Sydney.
Also attending were Worthy Matrons and Patrons of Chapters from the Wollongong, Goulburn, Bathurst, Newcastle and Sydney metropolitan areas.
During the meeting Betty Priest was honoured as she celebrated 50 years membership in the Lithgow Chapter.
The Order of the Eastern Star is an organisation which raises money for local charities.
Following the meeting guests, including Lithgow mayor Maree Statham, were entertained by members of the Chapter Choir and other members who regaled the audience with short skits centred around everyday life.
