The name is now simply Lithgow Community Private and its functions are concentrated in the former private hospital premises at Bowenfels.
LCP continues to operate a private day surgery and specialist centre and has consolidated all it operations into the Lithgow private hospital building offering patients a much improved service and location.
A centre spokesperson has assured the surrounding community that LCP is very much “open for business” and committed to caring for the community’s health.
There is ample parking and easy access to the new location — which is virtually next door to the previous Specialist Medical Centre.
“Our day surgery covers a wide range of procedures with short waiting lists and caters to patients either privately insured or self payers,” centre manager Bronwyn Boyling said.
“Our centre is continually expanding the range of doctors and specialities.
“LCP would like to thank the community and our staff for their patience during our restructure and reiterate that we are a community based organisation and we need the ongoing community support to make our new model grow and become sustainable,” she said.
Ms Boyling said LCP encourages patients to ask their GPs to be treated locally by one of our specialists or have their surgery procedure performed at LCP.
“We would also like to mention the great support we have received from the Lithgow Health Service and the Nepean Blue Mountain Local Health District during our transition period.
“They are committed to ensuring Lithgow and surrounding regions have first class health services.
“We invite patients past or present to provide any feedback that can help us improve our service to the community.”
More information will be announced in the coming months as to our progress and further planned improvements to the overall level of service.
LCP is a community owned organisation that operates a private day surgery and specialist centre located in the Lithgow Private Hospital building.
Following the closure of the Lithgow Community Private Hospital in 2013 the operation changed its name to Lithgow Community Private.
