The students were treated to a behind the scenes look at the VIVID festival in Sydney to help them get inspired.
Lithgow Council's Robbie Parkes accompanied the group to experience the running of the festival so they could be inspired and learn what it takes to run such an event.
During the excursion students were given a guided tour and were admitted into the VIP areas at the MCA and other lighting exhibitions that were on during the night.
They then followed the press circuit as different lights were turned on around Sydney harbour including Customs House, the Harbour Bridge and the MCA building.
They have returned to Lithgow with the knowledge and anticipation to be all hands on when Halloween comes around in October.
