This festival is designed to showcase the amazing photographic place that is Lithgow and surrounds.
It includes the group’s annual exhibition Aged, three wonderful workshops and an excursion to the Zigzag Brewery to wrap it all up.
The PCYC Lithgow Photography Group has been running since 2008, enjoying each other’s company and promoting Lithgow as a photography destination.
They meet regularly to discuss photography and go on excursions.
Every year they have an exhibition at Eskbank House and Museum and they participate in Ironfest, this year creating a hippy themed Peace Space.
In June 2015 they have created a whole month of activities for local and visiting photographers, Lithgowfotofestival2015.
In the exhibition Aged the group has interpreted the theme in a myriad of ways, from people and animals, to industrial ruins and landscapes.
The exhibition showcases the talents of the group and much of Lithgow’s beauty, which is in its age.
The exhibition runs from June 3-28, 2015 with an official opening at 2pm June 14, 2015 to which the community is invited.
There will be three workshops over the month on Photoshop, Street Photography and Drones.
Bookings for the workshops can be made by calling Wendy Hawkes on 0400 360 355.
The Zigzag Brewery is hosting our finale to this fantastic month of photography with an excursion at their historic site in Brewery Lane.
On June 27, 2015 at 2pm there will be a tour of the brewery including the old boilers and engines all set in the natural beauty of a hidden gully in Lithgow.
The excursion and festival will wrap up with a rousing beer taking at Zigzag’s boutique bar.
This is a free excursion but numbers are limited so call Wendy for a booking.
The group looks forward to sharing their exhibition, workshops and excursion with the local community and showcasing Lithgow to the many visitors who will be joining us for Lithgowfotofestival2015.
