Terry O’Keefe comes to Lithgow via Geraldton in Western Australia.
She has worked in libraries for more than 20 years, however decided on a sabbatical before commencing work at Geraldton.
That sabbatical led Terry to Korea, where she worked as an English teacher in a Primary School, an experience she describes as thoroughly enjoyable.
With family in the Blue Mountains, Terry is enjoying the change the move to Lithgow has brought her.
As an ex children’s librarian, she has a keen interest in supporting and building on the range of resources available for local children in the Lithgow Library.
“There’s a real need to promote early literacy and to support parents in introducing the joy of reading to young children,” she said.
Terry also has an interest in local history and is keen to help the library in making these resources more accessible to the community.
