The Tea Shack overlooking Lake Lyell was the fitting venue chosen by the committee.
A lot of work went into the decorations with an archway of pink and white balloons the entry point.
There were also pink and white balloons suspended from the ceiling and a freestanding “ice cream sundae’ balloon.
The theme was Back to the 1950s, everyone being invited to dress in their 1950s outfits or as their favourite movie star or actor.
Local band Loose Headed Child provided 1950s music for the partygoers.
Not only was the afternoon for Quota’s World Service program, but also a surprise birthday party for valued member Swee Choo who was surprised by friends and relatives coming from Singapore for the afternoon.
Swee’s family organised and supplied the scrumptious food and music, while also presenting Swee with a scroll featuring Thee Bamboo and 100 Symbols for good luck.
Swee’s birthday cake featured a plaque with “happy birthday sweet 16”wee insisted she was 25.
Lithgow Quota president Carol Marsland welcomed everyone to the afternoon and gave an overview of what Quota does locally and abroad, as well as how Quota began back in 1919.
Among the coming events Quota members are organising is a trivia night on March 25 at the Lithgow Golf Club.
Members of the public are also welcome and those intending on participating can contact Rhonda McAndrew on 0407 062 822.
