Those eligible for the play-offs are golfers who have won a monthly medal during 2014 in A, B or C grade.
Starting last January the following golfers are eligible for the 2014 gold medals (in A, B and C sequence.
January: Clint Rochester, Josh Hanrahan and Jake Gillespie.
February: Ian Downey, Rob George and Geoff Wheeler.
March: Gary Wallace, Frank Mantle and Alec Murdoch.
April: Andrew Burton, Michael Bennett and Steve Lewicki.
May: Ross Harrington, Don Lovett and Mark Willmott.
June: Ross Harrington, Jim Daniels and Paul Bailey.
July: Darren Hunter, Frank Mantle and Mark Willmott.
August: Troy Luka, Dave Hicks and Ron Evans.
October: Ian Downey, Kyle Egan and Ron Evans.
November: Greg Hunter, Damian Marjoram and Rob Passmore.
December: Don Farnsworth, Nev Kerrison and Geoff Brooks.
The gold medal play-off should provide some excellent scores with the course in tip top condition.
Two ball
A good field turned out for the two ball best ball with the winners breaking the magical 50 points.
Michael Casey and Ron Evans combined to perfection to amass the big total of 51 points, an excellent score as the course is still playing long following the recent rains.
Casey was the dominant partner when he shot a two over par 74.
Runners-up were Warren Kennedy and Ian Downey on 49 points.
It was a big day for Kennedy who also took out the single event that was held in conjunction with 46 points.
The best scratch scores went to: A grade, Chris Neville 35 points; B grade, Michael Casey 34 points; and C grade Warren Kennedy 19.
Nearest the pin awards went to: Chris Neville on the second (188cm); Rob Arnott on the fourth (57cm); Gary Wallace on the ninth (114cm); Jeff Geddes on the 13th (220cm) and Ian Downey on the 18th (243cm).
Balls in the ball competition went to those with 46 points and better.
Pennants
It was a good round for both pennant sides with the Seniors white washing Wentworth Falls five rubbers to nil and the Masters team winning five rubbers to one.
Both teams lead their respective divisions, Seniors by themselves and Masters equal with Wentworth Falls No 2 with one game to go.
Coming up
Today will see a stroke event with the monthly medals and the 2014 gold medal play off held in conjunction.
Golfers are reminded that the club championships will start next weekend March 7 and 8 and conclude on March 14 and 15.
The defending champions are Ian Nightingale (club and A grade champion), Josh Hanrahan (B grade) and John Griffiths (C grade).
