The club now has to call for expressions of interest for their coach in 2015.
Banning will be a great loss as he has gelled the side into the best one in the Western Premier League for a number of years.
“I will really miss coaching the girls, but family and work matters have made it near impossible to continue as coach,” Banning said.
“They have been great and it has been good to watch some of the younger girls who join our side evolve into mature and very impressive players.
“The older players have also been fabulous and have played a major part in the team’s success and the involvement of the younger girls.
“I have enjoyed my time with all the girls and feel that I am leaving them in a better place than when I first come on board as coach.
“The new coach will have a bevy of stars to work with as the side contains the cream of NSW and Australian youth gelled in with some highly experienced and talented players.
“I will be following their progress in 2015 with interest and when possible be coming down to watch them and support them to the hilt,” he said.
“The team has come a long way in the past four or five years and hopefully we can gain a coach of the expertise and personality as Greg,” manager Donna Quinn said.
“He was great and we would not be where we are only for him.
“Lithgow has a lot of knowledgeable coaches in both men and women and I look forward to the resumes for coach.”
The women’s Panthers are asking for interested coaches to send their resume to the Lithgow Workies Panthers Women’s Hockey Club, C/- of Donna Quinn, 38 Suvla Street, Lithgow, NSW, 2790 or email to donmicq@bigpond.net.au
Expressions of interest close on February 1.
