The game is futsal (indoor soccer) and such are the talents of Logan in this type of soccer is that he was selected, along with eight other boys, to play for the NSW Country under 14 side at the Futsal Australian Nationals in Penrith.
“Futsal is extremely fast and the best part of it that you are always in the game,” Logan said.
“The ball stays in play for virtually the entire game and you have to be fairly fit to play it.
“Playing against some of Australia’s best at the nationals was a real experience.
“NSW Metropolitan ended up winning the title, but we really pushed them all the way in our second game and were unlucky to be edged out 5-4.”
NSW Country’s results were: Drew 2-all with Queensland Metro; were beaten 5-4 by NSW Metro; defeated Queensland Country 6-5; and lost to Victoria Metro 4-1.
They then defeated Tasmania 3-1 and Adelaide 7-1 to put them in the semi final against Victoria Metro.
The semi was a top game, but Victoria Metro had too many big guns and won their way into the grand final winning 4-1.
NSW Metro were too strong for Victoria Metro to take out the title with Logan’s team finishing a creditable third.
Logan has now turned his attention to outdoor soccer where he will be playing in the Premier League for Mt Druitt.
Logan is the son of Gary and Heidi Inwood of Lithgow.
