Of the eight it was two girls that topped the achiever list.
Mary Monaghan gained her top marks in Design and Technology while Taylah-Rose Smith’s success was in Hospitality, both in Band 5.
Portland Central principal Murray Borham congratulated his students on both their efforts and their achievements during 2014.
“The staff and I are very pleased with the results and are looking forward to the next school year,” Mr Borham said.
Blue Mountains Grammar School at Wentworth Falls also has several day students from the Lithgow area and has expressed pleasure and some of the high marks achieved.
Schools across the region concluded their year yesterday with staff development days and will progressively return from the end of January.
TAFE HSC results will appear next week.
