The Penrith Panthers will meet the Gold Coast Titans in the round 2 NRL clash and will be broadcast via Fox Sports.
Bathurst Mayor Gary Rush said following the success of this year’s July game Council was keen to host a match earlier in the season.
“Securing an Autumn game was high on our agenda. The warmer weather will hopefully attract an even larger crowd than the 8824 who saw the Panthers vs Sharks match.
“Autumn is a beautiful time of year to visit and enjoy the Bathurst region.
“With our Autumn Colours program, bicentenary activities and events there’s plenty of reasons for visitors to spend more time in our vibrant city.
“We are already working with the Penrith Panthers to make this second game of our five year deal even bigger and better than this year.
“The Panthers have indicated they will promote are bicentenary celebrations by wearing a special Bathurst playing jersey.
“Detailed plans for the game including ticketing will be revealed early in the new year”, he added.
Council has also begun a program of works to upgrade seating in the Carrington Park grandstand to improve the comfort of patrons, along with the installation of a new drainage system beneath the Carrington Park field to avoid a repeat of this year's slippery playing surface.
Bathurst Regional Council is currently completing $110,000 renovation works to the playing surface of Carrington Park to ensure that the field continues to remain at a high standard, and is as well prepared for the local Rugby League season as it is for major events such as NRL matches and A League fixtures.
Further to renovation work other upgrades to the ground in 2015 include replacement of all the grand stand seating, renovation of the change rooms, new public amenities, new lighting and investigations into an extension of the grand stand and corporate function areas.
The installation of the drainage system and top dressing works is expected to be completed by mid December and it is envisaged that the field will be ready for use at the commencement of the 2015 Rugby League Season.
